Roger William Ginter, 66, Martinsburg formerly of Williamsburg passed away Saturday morning at The Village at Morrisons Cove following a brief illness.

He was born in Williamsburg son of the late Charles L. “Charlie” and Patricia A. (Frye) Ginter.  On July 1, 1972 he married Debbie A. Snare in Williamsburg.

Surviving are his beloved wife of 44 years; a daughter, Jennifer J. Boggs (Matt) of Duncansville; 2 grandchildren: Caitlyn J. and Dalton T. Boggs both at home; a sister, Cathy Jo Ginter (Tom) of Mercer; and 2 brothers: Thomas S. (Lori) of Altoona and Michael B. (Gloria) of Williamsburg.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Charles D. “Chuck” and a nephew, Jonathan.

Roger was a 1970 graduate of Williamsburg High School.  He was a member of Jacob’s Church, Hesston, where he sang in the church choir and served as a deacon and elder.

He retired in 2010 as a buyer from Your Building Center, Altoona.  Roger loved spending time with family, especially his grandchildren.  He also enjoyed fishing, woodworking, riding jet skis and spending time on his houseboat at Raystown Lake.

Friends will be received from 10 am until the 11:30 am, memorial service, Saturday, November 26, 2016 at the Williamsburg Alliance Church, Pastor H. Lloy Blattenberger officiating.  Private inurnment will be held at Royer Cemetery, rural Williamsburg.

The family prefers memorial contributions be given to Jacob’s Church, P.O. Box 90, Hesston, PA 16647 or American Cancer Society, 1004 N. Juniata St., Hollidaysburg, PA 16648.
