Ronald E. Bartnick, 80, rural Williamsburg, passed away Friday morning at Westminster Woods, Huntingdon following a brief battle with cancer.

He was born in Chicago, IL, son of the late Edward and Alice (Potter) Bartnick. He married the love of his life, Cindy Blontz on May 11, 1999 in Altoona. Cindy preceded him in death on December 2, 2014.

Surviving is a daughter, Jennie Breslin (husband, Michael) of Williamsburg and 2 grandsons: Parker and Abel.

He was preceded in death by a sister.

Ron was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War, serving from 1952 until 1957. During his service time he received the Republic of Korea Presidential Unit Citation, Korean Service Medal with 1 bronze star, UN Service Medal, Combat Infantry Man Badge, and was a recipient of the Purple Heart.

He retired in March of 2013 with 13 years of service from Warnaco, Duncansville, where he did various jobs.

Ron loved animals and also enjoyed watching movies.

At the request of the deceased there will be no public services. Arrangements are by John K. Bolger Funeral Home Inc., Williamsburg.

The family prefers memorial contributions be given to Mending Hearts Animal Rescue, PO Box 97, Hollidaysburg, PA 16648 or the Wounded Warrior Project, One Oxford Centre, 301 Grant St., Pittsburgh, PA 15219.
