Ronald “Sam” Eugene Detwiler

Ronald E. Detwiler, 65, of Martinsburg, passed away Friday morning, October 9, 2020 at the Cambria Care Center, Ebensburg.

He was born in Roaring Spring, son of Catharine E. (Brantner) and the late Marion E. “Amos” Detwiler.

Surviving are his mother; and a sister, Debra F. Dilling both of Martinsburg.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Judy Ann Detwiler.

Ronald was a member of Royer United Methodist Church, rural Williamsburg.  He loved going out to eat, watching Pittsburgh Steelers games, fishing and telling tales of working on the farm. Sam also enjoyed bowling, and for many years he competed in the Special Olympics, where he earned many first place medals.

Friends will be received from 10:30am until noon, Monday, October 12, 2020 at John K. Bolger Funeral Home Inc., Martinsburg, where a funeral service will follow at noon, Pastor Gordie Trimer officiating.  Private interment will be held at Shellytown-Fairview Cemetery, rural Williamsburg.
