Ronald Michael Verbonitz, 61, rural Williamsburg, passed away unexpectedly, late Monday at UPMC Altoona.
He was born in Roaring Spring, son of Joseph M. Jr. and Verna May (Flaig) Verbonitz.
Surviving are his mother of rural Williamsburg; a son, Matthew R. (wife, Rebecca) of Altoona; 2 brothers: Robert A. of Ashville and Thomas E. of Williamsburg.
He was a 1972 graduate of Williamsburg High School and attended the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church.
Ron retired in 2015 from Norfolk Southern, Altoona and had previously been employed at Conrail, Hollidaysburg Shop as a railcar inspector with more than 22 years of service.
He enjoyed fishing, watching NASCAR and loved all the Pittsburgh sports teams.
A public graveside service will be held at 11 am, Friday, January 8, 2016 at Oreminea Cemetery, rural Williamsburg, Pastor Paul R. Campbell officiating.
The family prefers memorial contributions be given to Williamsburg Alliance Church.
