Roy M. Beatty

Roy M. Beatty, 68, Hollidaysburg, formerly of Williamsburg, passed away Tuesday morning at his home following a brief illness.
He was born in rural Williamsburg, son of the late Roy B. and Clara M. (Miller) Beatty. He was twice married, first to Donna J. Boyer who preceded him in death on October 31, 1969, and then to Mary L. Diehl on July 11, 1970 in Frankstown Township.
Surviving are his wife of Hollidaysburg; 2 sons: Roy Jr. (girlfriend, Barb) of Houtzdale, and Robert at home; 3 daughters: Tresa of Bozeman, MT, Claira Litzinger (husband, Jim) and Robin Moyer (husband, Jim) all of Altoona; 9 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; and a brother, Clarence A. (wife, Susie) of Williamsburg.
He was preceded in death by an infant son, Johny; a brother, Charles Raymond; and a sister, Virgie J. Kinley.
Roy attended Williamsburg High School and was a member of Mines United Methodist Church, rural Williamsburg.
He was employed at Joe Krentzman’s Scrap Yard, Hollidaysburg for the past 40 years and had previously worked at Price’s Poultry, Hollidaysburg.
Roy enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Friends will be received from 12:30pm until the 2 pm funeral service, Saturday, May 16, 2015 at Mines United Methodist Church, rural Williamsburg, Pastor Gordie Trimer officiating. Interment will follow at Oreminea Cemetery, rural Williamsburg.
