Rufus H. Detwiler

Rufus H. Detwiler, 97, of Woodbury, passed away on January 5, 2022 at the Hollidaysburg Presbyterian Home. He was born on October 25, 1924 in Saxton; son of the late Sherman H. and Wealthy M. (Harvey) Detwiler. On October 12, 1947 in Woodbury; he was united in marriage to Eloise (Clouse) Detwiler, who survives. Rufus was a member of the Raven Run Church of the Brethren and was employed as an Equipment Operator for New Enterprise Stone & Lime Company. He enjoyed tinkering in the garage in his spare time. Rufus was preceded in death by brothers Raymond and George Detwiler. Surviving is his wife, Eloise; son, Vaughn Detwiler (Barbara) of Saxton; son, Daryl Detwiler (Stephanie) of Hopewell; brother, Robert Detwiler; sister, Mava Cottle; as well as 4 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Friends will be received on Monday, January 10, 2022 from 10:00AM until the 11:00AM Funeral Service at the Stone Funeral Home in Woodbury. Interment will be in Dry Hill Cemetery.
