Ruth E. (Horn) King

Ruth E. King, 102, of Martinsburg, formerly of Salemville, passed away on January 23, 2019 at Homewood in Martinsburg. She was born on November 27, 1916 in Manns Choice, daughter of the late George and Verda (Long) Horn. On March 29, 1947 in Schellsburg, she married Eugene D. King, he preceded her in death on July 27, 2001. Ruth was a member of the Buffalo Mills United Methodist Church but attended the German 7th Day Baptist Church in Salemville with her family after marriage. She was a graduate of Manns Choice High School and enjoyed gardening, tending to her roses, and had a soft heart for cats. Ruth and her husband Gene enjoyed traveling with friends to various locations all over the map. She was preceded in death by her husband Eugene and a brother, Chester Horn. Surviving are daughter Barbara A. Jennings and husband Bob of Atlantic Highlands, NJ; daughter Kathy S. Wampler and husband Ernie of Naples, FL; beloved niece Mildred Bassler and husband Jim along with sons Dusty (Kelly) and Derrick, and grandsons Austin and Andy; and beloved niece Katrina Gentsch and husband Kevin. Friends will be received on Sunday, January 27, 2019 from 10:00-11:00AM. At 11:00AM a funeral service will take place with Pastor Andrew Camenga officiating.
