Ruth Irene (Baker) Imler, 93, of Martinsburg, formerly of New Enterprise, went to be with her Lord and Savior on December 2, 2024. She was born on September 18, 1931 in New Enterprise; daughter of the late James and Laura (Fletcher) Baker. On October 27, 1949 she married J. Herbert Imler in Cumberland, Maryland; he preceded her in death on February 16, 1989.
Ruth attended Replogle School. She was a mother, homemaker, worked at the Everett Sewing Factory for 27 years, was custodian of Koontz Church for 30 years, and later in life, did day cleaning for people.
Ruth was a lifelong member of the Koontz Church of the Brethren where she taught Sunday School and was President of the Women's Fellowship for many years. She also attended Trinity United Methodist Church in Roaring Spring. Ruth was a member of the Southern Cove Volunteer Fire Company Auxiliary.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Carol Crawford. Surviving is son, James Imler (Nancie) of Carlisle; daughter, Kathy Zorn (William) of Camp Hill; daughter, Joyce McIlnay (Edward) of Hopewell; daughter, Pamela Swindell (Kenneth) of Kingston, Illinois; sister, Rosella Ross (Danny) of Heston; as well as 10 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received on Monday, December 9, 2024 from 10:00AM until the 12:00PM Funeral Service at the Koontz Church of the Brethren; Pastors Mike Benner and Eric Poteat officiating. Interment will be in Koontz Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions in Ruth's name may be made to Koontz Cemetery (138 Flash Dr. New Enterprise, PA 16664) or Koontz Church of the Brethren Building Fund (P.O. Box 121 New Enterprise, PA 16664).
