Ruth Elizabeth (Lower) Rupeka

d. April 1, 2018

Ruth Elizabeth Rupeka, of Williamsburg, went home to be with her Lord, Sunday, April 1, 2018 at the Presbyterian Village at Hollidaysburg, after a lengthy illness.

She was born in Williamsburg, daughter of the late Samuel D. and Alice M. (Hicks) Lower. On November 20, 1954 she married Frank Rupeka in Frankstown and he preceded her in death on November 3, 1997.

Surviving are a son, Frank S. Rupeka (Penny) of Williamsburg; a daughter, Cathy A. Saul (Robert) of Pittsburgh; two grandchildren: Alexander Saul of Pittsburgh and Sybil McDowell of Woodbury; five great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandson; and two sisters: Doris Ann Wheland and Mary Esther Dick both of Williamsburg.

She was preceded in death by a brother, David F. Lower.

Ruth was a graduate of Williamsburg High School and a longtime member of the Williamsburg Church of God. She also attended the Williamsburg Independent Bible Baptist Church and more recently the Williamsburg Christian and Missionary Alliance Church.

She was employed for many years for the Blair County Home Nursing Agency as an aide and Ruth also provided respite care for many families in the Williamsburg area.

Ruth was a loving and caring person that many were drawn to because she was such a good listener. She enjoyed many of the little things in life and took great pride in her family and home.
