S. Glenn Speacht

Stillman Glenn Speacht, 88, of rural Williamsburg, went home to be with the Lord, Monday morning, December 19, 2022 at his home.
He was born in Altoona, son of the late Stillman E. and A. Loleda (Brennan) Speacht. On March 31, 1956, he married Joanne Rupert in Altoona. She preceded him in death on October 22, 2022 following 66 years of marriage.
Surviving three children: Barry G. (Marjorie) Speacht, Gary A. (Lee Ann) Speacht and Cheryl A. Speacht (Darrell Bumford) all of Williamsburg; three grandchildren: Ashley Dively, Amy Speacht and Lyndsay Speacht (Joel Kwapis); three great-grandchildren: Owen Dively, Braylyn Speacht and Benjamin Holencik; and two step-brothers: Alan Shuss (Bonnie) of Lancaster, and Gary Shuss (Patty) of Carlisle.
He was preceded in death by a grandson, Cody Glenn Speacht; a sister, Loleda I. Eash; and a step-mother, Florence (Shuss) Speacht.
Glenn was a 1952 graduate of Altoona High School. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving as a tank mechanic from 1956 until 1958 attaining the rank of Private First Class.
Glenn retired as a truck driver from Grannas Brothers. He also worked for many years as a machine operator at Sylvania Phillips ECG, Altoona and previously drove truck for Prismo Safety Corporation in Alexandria.
He was a member of the Williamsburg Christian & Missionary Alliance Church, where he served as a Trustee, Elder and Head Usher. Glenn was also a member of GWRRA Motorcycle Chapter “S” of Altoona and the Gold Wing Road Riders Association.
Glenn loved spending time with his family, driving truck and serving his Lord, through his faithful service to his church. He also enjoyed camping, watching Nascar (#3 Dale Earnhardt Sr. was his favorite), and riding his motorcycle with his wife, Joanne.
Friends will be received from 5 to 8pm, Tuesday, December 27, 2022 at the Williamsburg Christian & Missionary Alliance Church and from 10 until 11am, Wednesday, December 28 at the church, where a funeral service with military honors will follow at 11am, Reverend Paul Campbell officiating. Private interment will be held at Sparr Cemetery, rural Williamsburg. Arrangements are by John K. Bolger Funeral Home Inc., Williamsburg.
