Samuel Lee Perry, 72, of Martinsburg, passed away Saturday morning, December 11, 2021 at Conemaugh Nason Medical Center, Roaring Spring.

He was born in Roaring Spring, son of the late Adie L. and Marjorie R. (Butler) Perry.

Surviving is a brother, Jesse D. Perry of rural Martinsburg.

He was preceded in death by a brother, PFC Timothy Eugene Perry, who was killed in action while serving in Vietnam on February 27, 1967.

Sam was a 1967 graduate of Central High School, Martinsburg, where he participated on the football and wrestling teams.  He was a U.S. Air Force veteran serving during Vietnam from 1968 until 1972,  attaining the rank of Sergeant.

Following his honorable discharge from the U.S. Air Force, Sam continued working for our government, taking satellite images for the National Weather Service.  After coming back to the cove, Sam worked many years as the manager for Ed’s Riverside, at both their Martinsburg and Duncansville locations.  And for the last 25 years he was employed as a maintenance and grounds keeper at Iron Masters Country Club in Roaring Spring.

Sam loved working and staying busy, he also enjoyed golfing and his pet cats.
