Samuel Dean Shriver, 86, of Clappertown, rural Williamsburg, went home to be with his Lord, Tuesday evening, April 1, 2025, at UPMC Altoona.

He was born in Martinsburg, son of the late Elvin R. and Beulah L. (Smith) Shriver.  On February 14, 1960, he married Mary E. Blough at the Martinsburg Memorial Church of the Brethren.

Surviving are his beloved wife, Mary, of 65 years; two sons: Clay Shriver and John A. Shriver (Robin), both of rural Williamsburg; two granddaughters: Kayla Wheland (Adam) and Marin Carder (Chris); and four great-grandchildren: Emma, Austin, Kason and Cooper.

He was preceded in death by an infant son, Donald Lee Shriver; a brother, Clayton E. Shriver; and two sisters: Doris Jane Shriver and Mary Lois Wakefield.

Sam was a 1956 graduate of Morrisons Cove High School, Martinsburg, and earned a degree in business from the Altoona School of Commerce. He was employed for 38 years in the parts department at Westvaco in Williamsburg.

He was a faithful member of Smithfield Church, rural Martinsburg, where he taught Sunday school, served as church treasurer and was the custodian for many years.

Sam loved serving his Lord, spending time with his family and also enjoyed reading his Bible and mowing grass.

Friends will be received from 11am until 1pm, Saturday, April 5, 2025, at John K. Bolger Funeral Home Inc., Martinsburg, where a funeral service will begin at 1pm, Pastor James Snyder officiating.  Private interment will be held at Fairview Cemetery, Martinsburg.

Contributions in memory of Sam may be given to Smithfield Church, 2198 Piney Creek Road, Martinsburg, PA 16662.
