Sandra Lee (Guyer) Snyder

Sandra Lee Snyder, 73, of Martinsburg, formerly of New Enterprise, passed away on January 30, 2018 at Conemaugh Nason Hospital. She was born on September 5, 1944 in Roaring Spring, the daughter of the late Glenn F. and Betty (Simmons) Guyer. On August 4, 1963 in Woodbury, she married Dale E. Snyder who survives. Sandra was a member of the Woodbury Church of the Brethren. During her time at the church she served as a Sunday School Teacher, secretary, librarian, and was involved in many committees. She was also a member and volunteered for the Cove Lioness Club, AFS, the Fresh Air Fund, Special Olympics, and the Farmer’s Union. She was preceded in death by one brother, Gerald Guyer. Surviving are her husband Dale; a son, Matthew D. Snyder (Christine) of New Enterprise; grandchildren Zane G. and Sydney G. Snyder; and sisters Cheryl Bassler and Denise Ott. Also surviving are four individuals she considered her own children. Anthony Hernandez who from NY, NY came to them every summer as a child as part of the Fresh Air Fund program, and three previous foreign exchange students Julia (Aubert) Shiffler formerly of Peru; Andre Wolff of Germany; and Danielle (Blackwell) Whyte of Australia. Friends will be received on Friday, February 2, 2018 from 6:00-8:00PM and Saturday, February 3, 2018 from 10:00-11:00AM. At 11:00AM Saturday, a Funeral Service will take place with Pastors Larry Graybill and David Ulm officiating.  All of the above will be held at the Woodbury Church of the Brethren. Interment will be at Holsinger Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions in Sandra’s name can be made to the Woodbury Church of the Brethren.
