Sarah (Rightenour) Redman

Sarah Redman, 78, of Altoona, formerly of Dover, Delaware, passed away on February 9, 2024 at her home. She was born on July 4, 1945 in Roaring Spring; daughter of the late Elvin and Icy Regina (Longenecker) Rightenour.

Sarah attended the Northern Bedford County School and later worked as a waitress at Woolworth Diner. She enjoyed trips to the beach and reading books.

Sarah was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Redman III on January 28, 2016; a daughter, Barbara Risinger; and siblings, Eleanor Lawrence and Glenn Barry, and Merle Rightenour. Surviving is daughter, Arleen S. McCarty (Kevin) of Lakeland, Florida; grandchildren, Jeffrey, Amber, Elizabeth, and Kevin J.; 2 great-grandchildren; sisters, Nettie Mooney and Fern Dick; brothers, Willie, George, John, Jim, and Robert Rightenour; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received on Wednesday, February 14, 2024 from 10:00AM until the 12:00PM Funeral Service at the Stone Funeral Home in Woodbury; Pastor Josh Tobias officiating. Interment will be in Diehl’s Crossroads Cemetery.
