Sharon I. Sollenberger

     Sharon I. Sollenberger 72, of Curryville passed away unexpectedly Monday, January 5, 2026 at her residence. She was born in Altoona a daughter of the late Allen and Irene (Weyant) Smith. On June 28, 1974 she married Wayne Sollenberger who survives along with three children: Melissa Benfer and husband Michael of Curryville, Michelle Guyer and husband Jason, of Roaring Spring, and Mark Sollenberger at home; four grandchildren: Madison Benfer, Airman First Class Mason Benfer, Katie Guyer, and Rachel Guyer; a sister Shelva Smith, of Turkey Valley; four brothers-in-law: Gerald, Gene, Jerome, and Earl Sollenberger; and four sisters-in-law Carolyn Sollenberger, Kathleen Mills, Beverly Sollenberger, and Rosalyn Sollenberger.

     Sharon was a 1971 graduate of Hollidaysburg High School, and then went to work for Hollidaysburg Bank & Trust. After she raised her three children, she was the Postmaster for Curryville Post Office for over 15 years, and also worked at C&S Market in Martinsburg. Sharon and Wayne were dedicated volunteers of the Huntingdon County Fair for over 33 years, handling the bookkeeping, and premium payouts at each week’s conclusion. She kept an immaculate flower garden around her home, enjoyed canning fruit and produce, and sewing. Along with traveling, Sharon never missed an event that one of her grandchildren was participating in. She was a lifelong member of the Curryville Church of the Brethren.

     Friends and family will be received on Thursday, January 8, 2025 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the Curryville Covenant Brethren Church, and again on Friday from 10:00 am until the 11:00 am church service with Pastor Matthew Moushlian officiating. Private interment at Fairview Cemetery.
