Shelly A. (Steele) Clapper, 72, of Roaring Spring, passed away peacefully, late Friday, March 28, 2025 at Bedford Post Acute Nursing Home, after a brief illness.

She was born in Roaring Spring, the first born of five children of the late Donald E. and Peggy M. (Myers) Steele.  Shelly was married to the late, Harold Timothy “Tim” Clapper.

Surviving are four siblings: D. Mark Steele (Linda), Keith E. Steele (Laura), Drew R. Steele and Tracy A. Steele; two nieces: Darien and Alexa Steele; a nephew, Matthew Steele (Lisa) and their children: Aidan and Alyssa Steele; a brother-in-law, Scott Clapper (Lori) and their daughter, Leigha.  In 2001 while building her new home, she met Joell Fowler, who became her handy man, friend and longtime companion.

She attended Roaring Spring Elementary and Middle School (Yellow Jackets) and was a 1970 graduate of Central High School, Martinsburg, where she was a dedicated and proud member of the locally known and well traveled, Central High School Marching Band.  Shelly later attended the Wilma Boyd Business School in Chatham Center, Pittsburgh.

Shelly briefly lived and worked in East Orange, NJ and after relocating back to central PA, she was employed at Servomation Vending in Tipton. This is where Shelly met her husband, Tim.  She retired in 2007 as a Pharmaceutical Technician from the Weis Market Pharmacy, Altoona with over 20 years of service.

She was raised in the Roaring Spring Methodist Church and was currently a faithful member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Roaring Spring.

Shelly loved spending time with and making dinner for her family and also enjoyed sewing, crocheting and watching the Pittsburgh Steelers and Penguins.

A celebration of life service will be held at 4pm, Monday, May 5, 2025 at Trinity United Methodist Church, Roaring Spring, with Rev. Ryan Gephart officiating.  Arrangements are by John K. Bolger Funeral Home Inc., Martinsburg.

Contributions in memory of Shelly may be given to Trinity United Methodist Church, 434 E. Main St., Roaring Spring, PA 16673.
