Shelvey M. Biddle

Shelvey M. Biddle, 84, of rural Williamsburg, passed away Friday morning, March 7, 2025 at UPMC Altoona.
She was born at home in rural Williamsburg, daughter of the late, Paul E. and Florence E. (Blough) Gorsuch. On June 9, 1956 she married J. Alfred Biddle, who passed away on September 9, 1985 following 29 years of marriage.
Surviving are five daughters: Debbie Appleman (Brady), Bonnie Kennedy (Randy) and Peg Kizina (Alan) all of Williamsburg, Leanne Biddle of State College and Cori Biddle of Hollidaysburg; seven grandchildren: Nathan Appleman (Christi), Natalie Houtz (Toby), Johnie Faller (Mike), Jarred Kennedy (Jennifer), Danni Turner (Don), Joshua Kizina and Jessi Fetters (Josh); 11 great-grandchildren; two sisters: Shirley Clabaugh and Betty Merritts; and three brothers: Thomas, William and Edward Gorsuch.
She was preceded in death by an infant son, Rodney; and a sister, Barbara Treese.
Shelvey attended Morrisons Cove High School, Martinsburg. She was a loving homemaker, who assisted her husband with the daily operations of their dairy farm along Clover Creek. Shelvey and her sister, Barb also did seasonal work for Leidy’s Greenhouse in Williamsburg.
She was a member of the First Methodist Church of Williamsburg, where she formerly taught Sunday school and helped prepare and serve many meals for various church occasions.
Shelvey loved spending time with her family, especially with her grand and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed quilting, gardening, sewing, baking and feeding birds.
Friends will be received from 4-7pm, Tuesday, March 11, 2025 at John K. Bolger Funeral Home Inc., Williamsburg and from 10 until 11am, Wednesday, March 12, 2025 at the First Methodist Church of Williamsburg, where a funeral service will begin at 11am, Pastor Matthew Roberts officiating. Private interment will be held at Royer Cemetery, rural Williamsburg.
