Shirley Ann (Gilpin) Hall, 77, former resident of R.D. Hopewell, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 22, 2023 at Woodland Park, Orbisonia, where she had resided for the past 5 years. She was born in Cumberland Co. of Allegany, MD to Harry Calvin and Maxine Mary (Elliott) Gilpin. On March 11, 1966, she married Linton R. Hall, who preceded her in death on August 26, 2021.
Shirley was a member of Bedford Forge Community Church, Jack’s Corner. She baked and decorated cakes for all occasions, loved her flowers and flowerbeds, and cleaned houses for folks and her church. Shirley was coming home from church when she was met with a horrific accident, leaving her with severe pain in the arms and legs ever since.
She was preceded in death by sister, Carol Jean Cope and brother, Kenny Calvin Gilpin. Surviving is sister, Peggy Maxine Hooper; sister-in-law, Marian, and husband Bill of Penny Farm, FL; sister-in-law, Phyllis Hall, widow of Arthur of Fort Wayne, IN; sister-in-law, Janet Hart, widow of Arlie of Hopewell; sister-in-law, Mary Hall, widow of Chester of Hopewell; sister-in-law, Rosalie Decker, widow of Charlie of Chambersburg; brother-in-law, Glen Hall, significant other Shirley of Millsboro DE; as well as numerous nieces and nephews from both sides of the family.
At request of the deceased, no services will be held. Inurnment will be in Bedford Forge Cemetery.
