Shirley Ann (Myers) Frederick

Shirley Ann Frederick, 83, a resident at Midtown Oaks Health & Rehab Center, formerly of Claysburg, passed away on November 18, 2023, after an extended illness. She was born on August 10, 1940 in Roaring Spring; the daughter of the late Harry E. Sr. and Cleo P. (Claar) Myers. Shirley’s husband and companion of 37 years, David H. Long of Claysburg, passed away on August 17, 2023.

Shirley attended Roaring Spring schools. She enjoyed decorating for holidays, cooking, collecting owl figurines, and working in her flower beds.

Shirley was preceded in death by a sister, Lillian Leonard and a brother, Harry “Deets” Myers Jr. Surviving is son, Donald Frederick of Roaring Spring; daughter, Karen Frederick of Martinsburg; grandchildren, Travis Frederick (wife, Starla), Brad Frederick, and Cody Frederick (wife, Rachelle); great-grandchildren, Starlet and Waylon Frederick; as well as a brother, Don “Red” Myers (wife, Janie) of Roaring Spring.

At request of the deceased, no services will be held. Inurnment will be in Dry Hill Cemetery.
