Shirley Ann (Dishong) Steele

Shirley Ann Steele, 86, of Everett, formerly of New Enterprise, passed away on Wednesday, October 8, 2025 at UPMC Altoona Hospital. She was born on February 3, 1939 in Everett; daughter of the late Joseph Roy and Florence A. (Weyant) Dishong. On December 12, 1964 in Everett, she was united in marriage to John L. Steele; he preceded her in death on February 17, 2023.

Shirley was a Class of 1958 graduate of Everett High School and methodist in faith. She worked as a telephone operator for many years and enjoyed collecting and selling antiques.

Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, John and siblings, Dorothy Barton, Martin Dishong, Lillian Clark Layton, Cecilia “Todd” Clark, Hazel Dishong, Richard Dishong, and Doris Hoffman.

Friends will be received on Friday, October 10, 2025 from 10:00AM until the 11:00AM Funeral Service at the Fink & Stone Funeral Home in Woodbury; Pastor Paul Snyder officiating. Interment will be in Bedford County Memorial Park.
