Sondra Jane Detwiler, 57, Martinsburg, passed away Sunday morning at UPMC Altoona, after a courageous fight with cancer.
She was born in Williamsburg, daughter of the late Catherine A. (Miller) Biddle. She married Glenn W. Detwiler on July 19, 1972 in Hollidaysburg.
Surviving are her beloved husband of 43 years; a daughter, Lisa K. Detwiler of Roaring Spring; 3 sons: Bryon K. Detwiler (Cristal) of Altoona, Isaac W. Detwiler of Martinsburg, and Adam W. Detwiler (Nadia) of Williamsburg; 6 grandchildren: Andrew, Emily, Casea, Katie, Olesya, and Brandon.
Sondra was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Roaring Spring where she enjoyed participating in Ladies Fellowship gatherings.
She was primarily a homemaker who loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, and also enjoyed fishing, playing bingo and going to casinos.
Friends will be received from 2-4pm and 6 until the 8pm, funeral service,Tuesday, May 24, 2016 at John K. Bolger Funeral Home Inc., Martinsburg, Pastor J. Richard Horner and Pastor Phillip J. Waite officiating. Private interment will be held at Oreminea Cemetery, rural Williamsburg.
