Steven Wayne Clapper

Steven Wayne Clapper, 73, of Martinsburg, formerly of Hopewell Township, passed away on November 15, 2024 at the Village at Morrisons Cove. He was born on December 4, 1950 in Roaring Spring; son of Joseph H. Jr. and Dolores Marie (Batzel) Clapper.

Steve was a Class of 1970 graduate of Northern Bedford County High School and member of the Yellow Creek Church of the Brethren. He worked at Iron Masters Country Club for nearly 20 years and prior to that, was a Dairy Farmer. Steve was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and foraging for mushrooms, which he shared with his neighbors and friends. He regularly harvested hickory nuts for sharing and had a love of fireworks and trains. Steve was a HUGE fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers, Penn State Nittany Lions, and watching golf.  Steve enjoyed nearly every dessert he ever met.

He was preceded in death by his father and best friend, Joseph H. Clapper, Jr. and great niece, Gianna Marie Clapper.  Surviving is his mother, Dolores M. Clapper; brother, Eric J. Clapper (Maggie); brother, Joseph H. Clapper, III (Christy); sister, Jill A. Clapper; nephews, Seth Clapper (Allie) and Bronson Clapper (Hannah); niece, Laura Zabanal (John Rine); as well as great-nephews, Benjamin, Elijah, Luke, and Julien.

Friends will be received on Tuesday, November 19, 2024 from 1:00PM until the 2:30PM Funeral Service at the Stone Funeral Home in Woodbury; Pastor Mike Benner officiating. Interment will be in Steele Cemetery, Hopewell Township.
