Tammy Sue Rhodes

June 30, 1972 — February 7, 2026

Clappertown

Tammy Sue Rhodes 53, of Clappertown, passed away on Saturday, February 7, 2026 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born on June 30, 1972 in Roaring Spring, a daughter of Ronald G. and Dorcas L. (Brumbaugh) Rhodes, of Clappertown. In addition to her parents she is survived by four siblings: Bonnie Bush and husband Mike, of New Enterprise, Tom Rhodes and wife Pam, of Martinsburg, Barry Rhodes and wife Karla, of Williamsburg, and Tim Rhodes and wife Maureen, of Williamsburg; and numerous nieces and nephews.

While in high school, Tammy worked at the Morrisons Cove Memorial Park the summer of her junior and senior years, before becoming employed at Burger King. She graduated Central High School in 1990. On August 14, 1990, Tammy was involved in a car accident that left her paralyzed from the neck down. She has been cared for at home since may of 1991 by her family, and a wonderful team of caregivers.

Tammy loved to go camping, and was able to do a lot of traveling including attending Coca-Cola conventions with her parents where she made many lifelong friendships. She especially enjoyed going to Disney World, in Florida, and going out to eat with family and friends. Tammy was very active at the Salem Reformed Church and with Camp Living Waters, in Schellsburg, and was an avid supporter of the local Humane Societies. She enjoyed making crafts for kids for many years, and would assemble crafting kits with her mother Dorcas. Together they would package them in envelopes and give them to the children at church and encourage them to put the craft together with their parents.

Friends will be received on Tuesday, February 10, 2026 from 2-7 pm at the Salem Reformed Church, 4008 Clover Creek Road, Martinsburg, and one hour prior to the service Wednesday. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 11, at 11 am at the Church with Pastor Micah Clouse officiating. Burial at the adjoining church cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Tammy’s name to the Salem Reformed Church 4008 Clover Creek Road, Martinsburg, PA 16662; or Camp Living Waters, 300 Camp Living Water Road, Schellsburg, PA 15559.
