Terry Lee Raible

Terry Lee Raible, 75, of Martinsburg, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday morning, December 19, 2023 at Conemaugh Nason Medical Center, Roaring Spring.

He was born in Altoona, son of the late George C. and Anna M. (Rutter) Raible.

Surviving are two sons: Matthew A. Raible (Jennifer) of Warrenton, VA and Corey S. Raible of Altoona; three grandchildren: Addison, Jack and Evaline Raible; his partner and companion, Janet E. Shoenfelt of 24 years; and two brothers: Joseph Raible (Ruth) of Lakeville, MN and Clair Raible (Sue) of Black River, NY.

Terry was a 1966 graduate of Hollidaysburg High School and also completed the accounting program through the Altoona School of Commerce. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving during Vietnam and also served for 27 years in the Pennsylvania Army National Guard.

He retired as a car repairman from Norfolk Southern Railroad, working at both the Altoona and Hollidaysburg Shops, with a total of 15 years of service.  Terry also worked for Freedom Township for a few years.

Terry loved flea markets, dancing, GI Joes, Halloween, yard decorations, his old truck, talking WWII, Hot Bench, washing cars and mowing grass. He enjoyed working hard, but never turned down a chance to have a catch, shoot hoops or play goalie with his boys and lately enjoyed hearing about the status of his grandkids and grand dog. Terry always had a positive outlook on life and never passed up an opportunity to talk, even if sometimes a bit too loudly, to a friend or a stranger.

Friends will be received from 6pm to 8pm, Thursday, February 1, 2024, at John K. Bolger Funeral Home Inc., Martinsburg, and from 10am to 11am, Friday, February 2, 2024, at the funeral home, where a celebration of life service with military honors will begin at 11 am. Private inurnment will be held at Rose Hill Cemetery, Altoona.  Arrangements are by John K. Bolger Funeral Home Inc., Martinsburg.
