Timothy W. Metzler

     Timothy Wayne "Tim" Metzler, 71, of Williamsburg, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 31, 2026 at AHN West Penn Hospital – Pittsburgh, surrounded by loved ones. Tim was born on April 19, 1954 in Altoona; son of the late Erma (Bice) Ackerman. On November 10, 1973, at the Yellow Spring Lutheran Church, he married his high-school sweetheart, Kathleen A. (Focht) Metzler. They were married for 53 years and battled this journey together.

     Tim was a Class of 1972 graduate of Williamsburg High School and faithful member of the Zion Lutheran Church – Williamsburg. He volunteered monthly in the Williamsburg Food Bank. Tim was employed by PPG, later PGW, as a glass inspector and technician. He retired in 2016 after 40 years of service. Tim was an avid fan of Duke Basketball. He enjoyed watching sports, walking and hiking, beach trips, but above all, time spent with his family and grandchildren. Tim supported his grandchildren in all their activities and loved them dearly. He was always there to provide guidance and support. Tim was humble, caring, and lived his life with integrity. With everything he had been through, he never lost his sense of humor!

     Tim was preceded in death by his stepfather, Don Ackerman and twin brother, Jim Metzler. Surviving are his wife, Kathleen; daughter, Missy Ross (husband, Tom Jr.) of Williamsburg; daughter, Becky Whitfield (husband, Fred) of Pittsburgh; daughter, Christy Neri (husband, Matt) of Williamsburg; grandchildren: Brandon, Nathan (fiancé, Miranda), Katie, Liliana, Anthony, Dylan, and Bryton; a sister, Dena Litzinger; and his dog, Izzy, who together enjoyed countless snacks and car rides.

     Friends will be received on Saturday, February 7, 2026 from 12:00PM until the 2:00PM Funeral Service at the Zion Lutheran Church in Williamsburg; Pastor John Kratz and Pastor Suzanne Morelli officiating. Interment will be in Yellow Springs Lutheran Cemetery – Yellow Springs.

     In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Tim’s memory may be given to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (www.stjude.org), Zion Lutheran Church (217 Plum St. Williamsburg, PA 16693), or the Leukemia Research Foundation (www.leukemiarf.org).
