Timothy P. Thompson, Sr.

Timothy P. Thompson, Sr., age 65, of Hollidaysburg, passed away Thursday, March 9, 2023 at home following an extended battle with cancer. He was born November 25, 1957 in Huntingdon, son of the late Walter Harold and Naomi Ruth (Dodson) Thompson. He married Lisa M. Hainsey on Dec. 13, 1984.

Survived by his wife; two children: Fiana Hinson (Brian) of Altoona and Timothy Thompson Jr. (Kira) stationed in Virginia Beach, Va.; four grandchildren; and two brothers: Barry Thompson of Belsano and Larry Garman of Martinsburg, W.Va.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Michael Thompson in 2012.

Tim was a 1975 graduate of Huntingdon High School. He was a US Navy veteran serving as a jet engine mechanic from 1984 until his retirement in 2004. He then drove truck for Grannas Bros., Hollidaysburg.

He was a member of Alexandria God’s Missionary Church. He enjoyed hunting, kayaking, playing sports: football and softball, and serving his Lord.

Friends will be received on Tuesday, March 14, 2023 from noon until the 2pm funeral service, officiated by Pastor Matt Peachey, all at Alexandria God’s Missionary Church. Interment will take place at Old Stone Church Cemetery, James Creek.
