Tyler Paul Ritchey, 33 of Woodbury, is a man of many hats. Son, brother, husband, uncle, friend, racecar driver, engineer, but none better than inspiration, father, and now hero, passed away on Monday, April 20, 2026 at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center surrounded by his family. He was born in Roaring Spring a son of Lincoln and Jeana (Brick) Ritchey. On October 3, 2020 in New Enterprise, he married Taylor (Horton) Ritchey who survives along with a son Wyatt, sister Ashley Barbour and husband Ian, of Curryville, a nephew Carter; two uncles Eric Ritchey and wife aunt Tina, and Pat Ritchey, both of Woodbury, aunt Dina Sensenig and husband Jacob, of New Enterprise; cousins Dalton, Darian, and Ryker, and several other cousins, and extended family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Herb Lee and Joan Ritchey, and maternal grandparents Gloria Bridges and Freeman E. “Gene” Brick.
In 2011, Tyler fell into a swimming pool that left him as an incomplete quadriplegic at the age of 18. Despite this, Tyler has never once slowed down. He worked as an engineer and for fun would hunt, ride four-wheelers, and most importantly, work on and race his super late model racecar. He has been with the love of his life for almost 10 years and together they have a 2-1/2 year-old son named Wyatt with plans of growing their family in the future. They just finished building their dream house and moved into it at the end of February. Tyler lived a simple life loving his family and racing with his entire heart and soul. He was the type to literally give you the shirt off of his back and while we know he would hate being the center of attention like this, he never would’ve passed on the opportunity to help so many others in this way.
