VIRGINIA Z. MECK, 86, of the Village of Morrisons Cove, formerly of Woodbury, died Sept 4, 2014 at the Village. Born Sept 10, 1927 in Pittsburgh, PA. the daughter of Charles “Cody” and Lola (Sprowl) Zellers. Married Bruce E. Meck in Winchester ,VA. She was a member of Faith United Methodist Church, Woodbury and a charter member of the Cove Lioness Club. She was a homemaker and a graduate of Robert P. Smith High School. She enjoyed flower arranging, gardening, collecting dolls, as well as her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Surviving is one daughter, Tonya of Woodbury and three sons, B. Dran (Cindy) of Martinsburg, Dana L. (Nanette) of Alum Bank, and Darin B. (Heather) of Martinsburg. Seven grandchildren: Christy McGhee (Harry), Brad Meck, Jessica Meck, Adam Meck (Kayla), Brent Meck (Nicole), Brandon Meck, and Kaitlin Meck. Nine great-grandchildren: Ashley, Alyssa, Austin, Kolton, Tanner, Landon, Eli, Karis and Dylan. She was preceded in death by her husband Bruce, brother Charles and a granddaughter Chelsea Meck.
Friends will be received: 5-8 pm Sunday, Sept 7 and 10-11am Monday the Sept 8 at the S. Gerald Weaver Funeral Home, where an 11am service will be held by Pastor Mick Dawes. Interment in the Yellow Creek Reform Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Faith United Methodist Church Building Fund. Arrangements by the S. Gerald Weaver Funeral Home, Woodbury.
