Wayne Heck

Wayne Heck, 80, of Hopewell, passed away on December 3, 2020 at UPMC Western Maryland Hospital. He was born on August 1, 1940 in Altoona, son of the late George and Betty (Guyer) Heck. Wayne was a graduate of Northern Bedford High School and drove truck for various area companies for 40+ years. He served his county as a member of the United States Army from 1959-1962. During this time, he received medals in both sharp shooting and good conduct. Wayne enjoyed fishing, attending various sporting events of his grandchildren, and was a member of the Broad Top City American Legion. He was preceded in death by his wife Maxine on February 10, 1999 and a son, Frank Heck. Surviving are son Wayne Heck Jr. and wife Erin of Phoenix, AZ; daughter Laurel Ward and husband Ronnie of Fort Myers , FL; son Thomas Heck and wife BJ of New Enterprise; son Kenneth Heck of Altoona; son Michael Heck and wife Jennifer of New Enterprise; sisters Laura, Lisa, Londa, LouAnn, and Loureen; as well as 14 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Friends will be received on Monday, December 7, 2020 from 5:00-7:00PM at the Weaver Funeral Home in Woodbury. We ask those in attendance to follow CDC guidelines by wearing a mask and practicing social distancing. Inurnment will be in New Enterprise Cemetery.
