Wayne Paul “Stoney” Stonerook

October 27, 1937 ~ March 2, 2025

Wayne Paul “Stoney” Stonerook, 87, of rural Martinsburg, passed away Sunday, March 2, 2025, while on vacation in Marathon, FL.

He was born in Roaring Spring, son of the late Paul and Francelia (Reffner) Stonerook.

Surviving are a daughter, Kim Rupp (Kent); a granddaughter, Ryann Lyon (Daryl); a great-granddaughter, Tegan Rae Lyon; six sisters: Doris Wagner, Darlene Lang (Paul), Sandra Oakes (Ron), Joan Mock (Steve), Carol Myers (Gary) and Yvonne Rhodes; and longtime companion, Sondra Batzel.

He was preceded in death by a son, David Wayne Stonerook.

Wayne owned and operated a dairy farm in the Cove for many years and after retiring from farming, he drove for the Pony Express.

He enjoyed spending time at his hunting camp, trips across the United States and vacationing in the Caribbean Islands.

Stoney will be remembered for his keen sense of humor and his hearty laugh.

A celebration of life service is being planned for a later date.  Arrangements are by John K. Bolger Funeral Home Inc., Martinsburg.
