Wilda S. Rhodes, 97, The Court at The Village at Morrisons Cove, Martinsburg, passed away Monday afternoon at the home.

She was born in Fredericksburg, rural Martinsburg, daughter of the late Daniel E. and Annie M. (Frye) Shriver.  Wilda was married to the late Melvin Rhodes Jr.

Surviving are a daughter, Brenda J. Ritchey (Joe) of Martinsburg; a son, Steven L. (Deborah) of Altoona; 6 grandchildren: Michael Ritchey (Angela), Julie Dell (Joel), Stephanie, Ashley, Christina, and Danielle Rhodes; 5 great-grandchildren: Alexis and Jenna Ritchey, Joshua, Jason and Jessica Dell.

She was preceded in death by 3 brothers: Emerson, Landis and Cletus Shriver.

Wilda was a graduate of Morrison Cove High School, Martinsburg.

She was a lifelong member of Clover Creek Church of the Brethren, rural Martinsburg.

Wilda retired in 1984 from SKF Industries, Altoona and had previously been employed at Shriver’s Florist, Roaring Spring.

She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and also loved helping others.

A memorial service will be held at 11 am, Thursday, March 31, 2016 at Clover Creek Church of the Brethren, rural Martinsburg, Pastor David F. Banaszak and Chaplain Linda S. Banaszak officiating.  Private inurnment will be held at Fairview Cemetery, Martinsburg.

The family prefers memorial contributions be given to Clover Creek Church of the Brethren or The Village at Morrisons Cove.
