William G. Davis Jr., 84, rural Williamsburg, passed away Friday evening at UPMC Altoona, due to heart complications.

He was born in Morris Township, Huntingdon County, son of the late William G. Sr. and Clara M. (Isenberg) Davis. He married Marie M. Marian on July 21, 1952 in Petersburg, Huntingdon County. She preceded him in death on April 29, 2014.

Surviving are 2 sons: Monty G. and wife, Melissa of rural Alexandria and James L. and wife, Lisa of rural Williamsburg; 3 grandchildren: Erik A. Davis and wife Carrie of Orrstown, Franklin County, Justin L. Davis and wife, Tracey of Martinsburg and Heath W. Davis of Alexandria; 2 great-grandchildren: Kelcie and Jonathan; and a sister, Mary V. Guyer of Mill Creek, Huntingdon County.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Jackie Davis and a sister, Esther Higley.

Mr. Davis was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War, attaining the rank of Private 2nd Class.

He was a member of Calvary Bible Church, Alexandria and also attended the Williamsburg Independent Bible Baptist Church, rural Williamsburg.

Mr. Davis retired in 1993 from Westvaco, Williamsburg with 29 years of service and was a member of the NRA.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, spending time in the outdoors and also was a very talented mechanic who could fix about anything.

Friends will be received from 5-8pm, Tuesday, April 5, 2016 at John K. Bolger Funeral Home Inc., Williamsburg. A funeral service will be held at 11 am, Wednesday, April 6, 2016 at the funeral home with Pastor Robert “Bob” Maurer officiating. Private interment with military honors will be held at Alexandria Presbyterian Cemetery, Huntingdon County.

The family prefers memorial contributions be given to the American Cancer Society.
